The blue and white vertical stripe design of this rug is given life within the weaving technique.
The effect is created using the ‘salt & pepper’ technique where a pattern is created using alternating colours in each knot, creating a chequer pattern as seen in Persian Gabbehs.

I discovered this beautiful collection on my travels. These pieces are inspired by antique Persian flat weaves and the textures of vintage fabrics, hence the name ‘Tessuto’ meaning fabric.
