How sunlight effects to colours in your room
Light has the power to literally change a colour’s intensity and tone from room to room. The light source, quality, and direction can combine to make colour look different from one room to the next.
The direction of the light is also important to note.
Each room has a different light profile, it is worth taking this into consideration when selecting what colour rugs to use in what room.
As a rule of thumb the following is true…
North-facing rooms
Light in a north-facing room will be cooler and bluish. Bolder colours show up better than muted colours. Lighter colours will end up looking more subdued in a north facing room. Be brave be bold.
IKAT 24
Vibrant red and butter milk tones are used in Ikat 24 with highlights of cobalt blue.
MALACHITE
Inspired by the swirling shapes within the mineral Malachite, this rug is full of depth and drama.
South-facing rooms
Lots of sun brings out the best in cool and warm colours. Dark colours will brighten and lighter colours will come to life.
GIOVANNA
Made up of repeating patterns, inspired by Italian peasant design of the 18th & 19th Century, the S Giovanna rug is neutral in tone.

East-facing rooms
