“‘It has been a great experience working with Huntsman. To be immersed in the history of tweed and to create something unique for the brand.' ”
Clothing has often served as camouflage and tweed has historically done this job as well. You see that the colours embedded into the fabric reflect the hillsides on which they are worn – with hints of pinks for the heather moorlands and perhaps a shot of blue for a blue bell lined shore of the Lochs. That is why every tweed is different because each landscape requires a different colour.
Huntsman – which served as the inspiration for Matthew Vaughan’s cinematic blockbuster Kingsman franchise – was founded by Henry Huntsman in 1849 and has dressed political and cultural luminaries, including Sir Winston Churchill, Ronald Reagan, Sir Laurence Olivier and David Bowie.
The rug will be on display at Huntsman’s Savile Row store from early June and is priced at £1,367 per m.
